Fran von Vie

Bio: Francisco Javier Rubio (Fran Von Vie) nacido en 1987 en Menorca. A los 12 años se hizo con un Pc 486 donde empezó sus primeras composiciones, a los 14 ya contaba con un juego de Technics y fué un disco de “The Suprems” el primero que sirvió a este jovén menorquín para realizar sus primeros skratchs. Su inquietud por la producción le empujaron ha elaborar densos ritmos de Hip-Hop, donde posteriormente rapearían artistas como “x-Man” desde Canarias, “El gallo” desde Alicante, “Soxiedad alcoholica” desde Tijuana (Mexico) entre otros, más tarde responsable de la formación del colectivo de Islataka “LTK” a los que acompañó en las producciones y en los platos a lo largo de la isla. A los 17 años se mudó a Barcelona y empezó a sonar en solitario, siendo residente en la teteria "Baraka", actuó en la mítica sala "Apolo" donde colaboró en la edición del DVD “ElectronicArtFestival”. Poco a poco quedó envuelto y sumergido en los sonidos elegantes, contundentes y celestiales característicos del dub y del progressive. El antiguo “Tango” o “La Sala” en “Son Tretze” (Menorca), hasta el “BullDog Cafe” en Cancun, pasando por Playa del Carmen y Puerto Morelos en (México), Amsterdam y Haarlem en (Holanda), Liverpool y Leeds en (UK) son algunas de las ciudades testigo del buen gusto, la pasión y entrega de este menorquín por el sonido electrónico.

At the age of 12 with a 486 PC he began his first compositions, at 14 he got a set of Technics and with a record of "The Supremes" this young Menorcan started making his first skratchs. His interest in music production pushed him to develop dense rhythms of Hip-Hop, and some years later he composed different beats for Rap artists like "X-Man" from the Canaries, "The Rooster" from Alicante, "Soxiedad alcoholic" from Tijuana (Mexico), among others, also responsible for the formation of the collective group Islataka "LTK" which he accompanied throughout the island and also mixed with them. At 17 he moved to Barcelona and started playing by himself, being a resident dj in the Teteria "Baraka" he played at the legendary room "Apollo" and helped in editing process of the "ElectronicArtFestival" DVD. Gradually he became involved and immersed in more elegant, strong and characteristic sounds of the heavenly dub and progressive rhythms.From the "Tango", "The Board", "Son Tretze" in Menorca, to the Bulldog Cafe in Cancun, to Playa del Carmen, Puerto Morelos in Mexico, Amsterdam and Haarlem in Holland, to Liverpool and Leeds in UK, are some of the cities that have tasted the passion and commitment of this Menorcan for the Electronic Style.
